FACILITIES
The staff and committee of the camp invite you to use our facilities which cater for a wide range of groups. The camp is built over two levels on 16 acres of grassland overlooking the Kauaeranga River. Below you will find information about accommodation (onsite and up the valley with our Valley Experience), catering and transport.
ACCOMMODATION
KVCC Base Camp - all under one roof:
• 8 bunk rooms with a total of 80 beds - 6 with 12 beds each, 2 with 4 beds each
• Large dining room/Hall
• Upstairs Lounge/Conference room
• 2 Ablution blocks - each with 3 showers, basins, foot-bath, and flush toilets
• Canteen
• Room with double bed and room with 3 single beds
• Caravan points and tent sites are available.
The Valley Experience:
• Two marquees - for kitchen and dining rooms
• Tents for up to 50
• Ablutions: DOC toilets, bathing in the river, treated drinking water
More about the Valley Experience
CATERING
Our fully equipped modern kitchen includes a fan-bake electric oven, gas cookers, a deep fryer, stove tops, camp toaster, cooking utensils, walk-in pantry, walk-in chiller, and dishwashing room. With the exception of the Valley Experience, all crockery and cutlery is supplied by camp.
All food is supplied and cooked by camp staff and this is included in our full catered price. Clients requiring a special menu (vegetarian, gluten free etc.) need simply to inform camp staff at least one week before their camp and we will be happy to meet their needs. Plain biscuits are provided for morning and afternoon teas - although most campers bring their own baking to camp.
We will require help with the following:
• Setting and clearing of tables
• Dishwasher room (2 - 3 people)
• Making and serving morning and afternoon teas and supper
• Preparation of cut lunches if required
A Canteen selling lollies and soft drinks is available on request.
PLEASE NOTE: Kauaeranga Valley Christian Camp is an alcohol free facility.
