Youth Leadership Training
YLEAD (Leaders in Training) Yr 9 -11
We live in the world where young people miss out on opportunity to find out who they are and what they are capable of. We at KVCC are passionate to see young people reach a potential that they have not reached before. We strongly believe that in order to become a world changing leader, you must first learn to serve. Serve others in ways that bring out their character, their gifts, their weaknesses and their ability to lead the community around them.
YLead's serve with a team during our Holiday Camps through; Kitchen help, Dishes, Cleaning, Activity Set up and Help, and Serve throughout the camp where needed.
They receive Biblical training through the week and learn to apply that knowledge to the practical skills in Ministry. they get to ask the questions; who is God? Who am I? and Where am I going?
YLEAD qualifications:
must be at least 13 years of age, Yr 9 in school
must attend two Abide: Leadership Development weekends a year
willing to serve
teachable hearts
applicants will have to fill in an application process
two character referees
Cost: $50/week PLUS $15 FOR CANTEEN
The YLEAD programme has its own cost since it acts as a corresponding camp to the Holiday camp it goes alongside it as its own camp. The quality of the leadership training, opportunity, and participation the YLEAD’s will receive will be a greater value to the cost of the programme. We make the cost affordable so all can participate. Funding can be available for YLEAD campers with financial limitations.

*Whats the real cost for Camp?
At KVCC we try and make camp as affordable to everyone. However, the actual costs of running camp far outweights the amount we charge for YLEADS. The actual cost of a Ylead for 5 nights is $400/week or $80/day. If you feel that you can afford the actual cost of camp, you are welcome to opt in to that. If you would like to pay the subsidised amount instead, please do that.
We want Camp to be a blessing to our communities during the holidays and be the best place for campers to be. If you are still needing funding for your camper with the subsidised amount, please let us know. We never want finances to hinder the ability to be at camp. - Thank you!
YLEAD Sign Up Instructions:
Come to an ABIDE CAMP (You must come to ONE ABIDE leadership Training camp before you come to join the YLEAD programme as a YLEAD.
The Next Abide camp is November 27-29.
